A Royal Visit from HRH Princess Anne to the New Forest Basics Bank
The Princess Royal flew into the New Forest by helicopter and met members from the Basics Bank earlier this year.
On her visit to New Milton, the Princess was introduced by Oliver Stanley to volunteers and staff from the New Forest Basics Bank. She learnt of the important work that is carried out by the charity in the local area, providing food and other essentials for people in need. She learned of the charity’s story, now in its 18th year, and how it continues to be supported by the valuable team members and the generosity of the local community with collection points throughout Lymington, Pennington, Milford on Sea, New Milton and the wider New Forest.
The trip to the local area allowed Princess Anne to meet a number of brilliant local charities and organisations, all carrying out great work within the New Forest area. The visit was concluded by her joining a reception in the main hall of the Nedderman Centre, New Milton, hosted by the New Forest Basics Bank.
