Giving Tuesday 2023
Support the New Forest Basics Food Bank with a donation on Giving Tuesday - a global day of giving.
It can be hard to know how to help a good cause in the most meaningful way, especially when it’s to do with a large-scale issue such as food poverty. On Giving Tuesday everyone, everywhere can do something to support the good causes and communities that mean so much to them.
Here at the New Forest Basics Bank we provide around 100 parcels to local households in crisis every week. In addition we support a further 150 households through our collaboration in four FareShare larders in our area. The foodbank, which is run entirely by volunteers, relies on a strong sense of community to help people who are not able to feed themselves properly.
We are grateful for the generous food donations by the public. We also applaud our amazing volunteers who, in collaboraton with the Food Rescue Kitchen, collect surplus (free!) food. Despite all these incredible efforts, we find that we are now purchasing more than half of the food and household items in each parcel. We are 100% independent and completely self-funded which means we rely on cash donations and grants to continue to support those in need in our local community.
If you are able to, please help by:
popping food & household items into our donation baskets
Thank you!!
